    Disability Hate Crime on the Increase

    Now Then magazine has published an article following their Freedom of Information request to South Yorkshire Police showing that disability hate crime figures rose to 441 in 2021, a 77% increase since 2018.Campaigners claim that this figure may still be lower than the actual incidence due to disabled people reluctance to report incicents and encourage disabled people to report hate crime if thay have been victimised.

It seeks the evidence needed to hold the UK government to account over failings during the pandemic, and in building solutions for transformative and sustainable change in social care.The deadline for submissions is Friday 30 September.
