    The Policy Centre for African Peoples, which works to enable African and disadvantaged people of all ethnic origins to improve their lives through education, leadership training and social engagement, is looking to support up to ten young people aged 18-25 who have lived experience of either poverty, mental health or discrimination, as Youth Innovation Fellows.

    Covid-19, Disablism And Systemic Racism Survey

    The Commission on COVID-19, Disablism and Systemic Racism was launched to explore how the worst impacts of COVID-19 have fallen on Disabled people, and even more so on Disabled people from Black, Asian, and minoritised ethnic groups. It seeks the evidence needed to hold the UK government to account over failings during the pandemic, and in building solutions for transformative and sustainable change in social care.The deadline for submissions is Friday 30 September.

    Black and Brown Parent Carer Safe Space

    The Sheffield Parent Carer Forum acknowledges that some parent carers from Black, Asian and other Minority Ethnic communities may not feel confident attending their typical meetings. The forum is therefore piloting a monthly session on the last Wednesday of the month from 7 – 9pm via Zoom.

    LEAP Panel Looking for Members

    Have you received care from Sheffield Mental Health NHS Services in the last five years? Are you interested in joining a Lived Experience Advisory Panel ( LEAP ) for an NHS research project on improving mental health services for people from ethnic minority backgrounds?It is hoped that the first LEAP panel will be taking place in the last week of July on a weekday with a mix of people in terms of age, gender, sexuality and ethnicity.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
