    The Amazing Impact of Inclusive Cycling

    Our inclusive cycling project, Sheffield Cycling 4 All, launched their first ever public impact report at their recent 15th birthday party. It describes their achievements providing statistics and personal stories showing how the project promotes wellbeing and supports a healthier lifestyle. Their new Autumn/Winter timetable starts on 30th October with sessions from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

    Sad Farewell to Jules

    Sheffield Cycling 4 All is very sad to announce that their friend and great supporter Julius (Jules) Vernon passed away on 8th November 2022. Jules was a great advocate for cycling and the benefits it brings. His warmth and kindness helped to make people feel welcome when they came cycling.Thank you, Jules, for being part of our group and helping to shape it into what it is today.

    Bike For Health

    Our inclusive cycling project Sheffield Cycling 4 All has worked in collabaration with Sport For Confidence, Sport England and the Collage Of Occupational Therapists among others to create a resource for healthcare professionals.The ‘Therapeutic Value of Cycling’ gives medical professionals the information and confidence to support disabled people and people with long-term health conditions to experience the joys of cycling and all the benefits that come with it.

    Cycling 4 All Update

    Sheffield Cycling 4 All is again riding high running sessions (which you have to pre-book currently ) in Hillsborough Park Monday to Friday and the last Saturday of every month. But their activities will be temporarily suspended due to the Tramlines festival from July 12th to August 3rd. You’re also invited to a presentation to design a mural for their new shipping containers on Wednesday 21st July at 4-5pm.

    SC4A Outdoors and Indoors Action

    Sheffield Cycling 4 All is getting back to park life with group and solo sessions taking place in Hillsborough Park due to the relaxation of lockdown regulations and online activities are still taking place for those who may not be able to get out. There are now Saturday sessions on the last Saturday of each month, starting this Saturday (24th April). You can check out their new videos as well.

    Caroline Riding High With TV Appearance

    Caroline Waugh, a volunteer at Sheffield Cycling 4 All, a project run by Disability Sheffield, can be seen on the screen tonight when her trusty but rusty trike – which she used while carrying the Olympic Torch a decade ago – gets a makeover .Caroline is appearing on BBC2 show Saved And Remade, in which much-loved but unused objects are transformed into new items. Can’t wait to see what’s made for you Caroline!

    Try Out a Trike With This Super Loan Scheme

    Do you fancy cycling but think you would find two wheels a bit precarious? Trikes are available from Sheffield Cycling 4 All for a loan of up to three months and the first people to take advantage of the scheme have given their verdicts. SC4A is also campaigning for better infrastructure to make cycling more accessible and asking anyone who borrows a trike to take photos of inaccessible spots, which will then be forwarded to Sheffield City Council.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
