The Knowledge Bank are a group of people who have all had social workers and they work with the social work team at The University of Sheffield to represent the views of people with lived experience. The team are reviewing what they teach on the course and has asked The Knowledge Bank to find out what people think makes a good social worker. And to do this they want to hear from people in the South Yorkshire area who also have experience of social workers.

Social Work England is looking for volunteers in early November to check that their new website is accessible. The website will allow the public to check the details of around 100,000 registered social workers and raise any concerns.

The University of Sheffield is holding a ‘Living Library’ for its social work students and is looking for people with either particular life experiences or experiences of social work services to become a ‘book’ for the afternoon of Friday the 24th May 2019 ( and at future dates ) and share their story with a small group of about 5 or 6 social work students.

The new, specialist regulator for all child, family and adult social workers in England need people who have lived experience in relation to social work to help them to develop their organisation and challenge them to achieve their ambition of being an open, honest, transparent and fair regulator. You can be involved from the start in setting up their Expert by Experience Advisory Group helping to shape and design how the group will work, its roles and responsibilities and frequency of meetings.
