  • Hidden Disability Changes To Blue Badge Scheme

    People with ‘hidden disabilities’ will soon be able to get Blue Badge parking permits due to the biggest review of the scheme since it was set up almost half a century ago. The changes will ‘go live’ on 30 August 2019 and we will update our Disability Sheffield Blue Badge Factsheet nearer the time when full details are known.

  • Sunflower Lanyards at Sainsbury's Show Hidden Disability

    Sainsbury’s supermarkets are rolling out a scheme designed to enhance the shopping experience for people with hidden disabilities such as autism, dementia, visual or hearing impairment. Shoppers will be able to pick up a sunflower lanyard at participating Sainsbury’s stores, which will act as a discreet sign to alert staff to customers who may need additional help whilst shopping

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
