    ENIL Webinar on Independent Living Summary

    The European Network On Independent Living, a cross – disability rights civil society organization covering the continent – has hosted a seminar working towards ensuring that all disabled people can live independently. Among the speakers were activists and advocates of the social model of disability, the deinstitutionalisation movement, and the disability movement. Representing the UK was Simone Aspis who reflected on the 12 pillars of independent living and segregation in educational settings in the UK.

  • Hydrocephalus Education Seminar

    Teaching professionals and members of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) service are invited to a seminar on Wednesday October 17th at the Sheffield offices of Irwin Mitchell, organised by national charity Shine, about the effects of hydrocephalus on children’s learning and behaviour. Places are limited so early booking is advised.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
