  • More than £1 million for 10 new research projects led by disabled people

    Ten new projects across the UK have received between £40,000 and £150,000 of National Lottery funding each, to explore how disabled people can live as full citizens in our society and what changes and support will make that happen in practice. One project led by ALLFIE, in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, is investigating a particular measure that exists in English law to test its effectiveness as a driver of inclusive education for disabled pupils and students. ‘Accessibility Plans’ are a measure of the Equality Act 2010.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
