Seminars For Parents of Children with SEND

Seminars For Parents of Children with SEND

A series of free seminars has been set up to help parents whose children have Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND).

This means they have a learning difficulty or disability which makes it much harder for them to learn than other pupils of the same age and they require special educational provision to be made for them.

Sheffield Parent Hub, run by Sheffield City Council has a range of programmes including seminars specifically designed for parents and carers of children with SEND.

Groups are friendly, welcoming, and non-judgemental and those taking part have the opportunity to meet other parents and carers, discuss experiences and ideas and be supported to find the best solutions for the whole family. 97% of parents have rated the SEND parenting programmes as ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’.

You can register for the free seminars here.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
