Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership has released its Annual Report for 2018/9 in the form of a video. The Partnership helps to promote awareness of and develop a better public understanding of adult abuse and involves service users in the development of their policies and services as well as taking the lead responsibility for conducting serious case reviews in Sheffield.

Social Work England is looking for volunteers in early November to check that their new website is accessible. The website will allow the public to check the details of around 100,000 registered social workers and raise any concerns.

People with hidden disabilities, including autism and severe mental health conditions can now apply for a Blue Badge following changes to the eligibility criteria which came into effect at the end of August. While the new criteria should give clear and consistent guidelines on Blue Badge eligibility for the whole of England, not everyone with non-physical disabilities will qualify for a badge. It will be up to the relevant local authority to decide if an applicant meets the eligibility criteria, as is currently the case.

A major new campaign has been launched to support the 15 million people who live with one or more long-term health conditions in England. ‘We Are Undefeatable’ recognises the unique barriers that people living with health conditions face and shows the emotional stories of men and women living with a variety of conditions getting active in ways that work for them.
