Many people with learning disabilities are missing out because they are unaware that they are entitled to a free flu jab
A campaign has been launched to let people with learning disabilities know how simple it is to get their free vaccine. This activity is part of the NHS ‘Help Us Help You’ winter campaign which helps the public understand how they can stay well over the winter period. It is particularly important for people with learning disabilities to get the injections as they are more likely to have complications or even die if they do not.
An Easy Read Poster and a video featuring a young woman with a learning disability talking about and getting her jab have been produced. A list of Easy Read resources is also available.
