Know your Human Rights

The British Institute of Human Rights has recently launched a new online human rights tool called ‘Know Your Human Rights’ .

The tool aims to support people with mental health and/or mental health capacity issues, and their advocates , to find out more about human rights and to be able to raise issues in a health and care setting.

The tool has simple and clear information about human rights as well as interactive flowcharts which support people to a) work out if their issue is related to human rights and b) how they can raise a human rights issue. There are also a range of downloadable resources including accessible facts sheets and letter writing templates.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
