    Research on Addiction to Video/Internet Games

    The School of Psychology in the National University of Ireland, Galway are looking for adults with a diagnosis of Autism, aged 18+ to take part in their research survey. The project is examining addiction to gaming which they call’Gaming Disorder’in adults with and without Autism.The closing date for the survey is 23 March at midnight.

    The Festival of Debate is back for 2020 and we’re excited to announce that Disability Sheffield will be hosting two thought-provoking events. The first event on Thursday 16 April will debate “Has the Care Act given us any choice?” whilst the second event on Monday 27 April debates the effects of austerity on disabled people.     Patient And Citizen Leaders Programme

    The NHS Leadership Academy Yorkshire & Humber in collaboration with Altogether Better is running a 3-day programme for patient and citizen leaders. The purpose of this new programme is to provide a development opportunity for patients and citizens who want to make a difference and who are working with people and services across the NHS and wider health and care system. For example this might be within NHS Trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups, universities, Strategic Partnership Groups or with organisations like Healthwatch. Participants will become part of a new patient/citizen leader network in the Yorkshire and the Humber region.

    Research on Housing Services for People with a Learning Disability

    The National Development Team for Inclusion is working on research around housing services (supported living and residential care) for people with learning disabilities. Family carers have told NDTi about the varied ways they support a relative with a learning disability in different housing settings leading them to believe that the role, input and contribution of family carers is an important and neglected area. To explore this further they have created a questionnaire based on what family carers have told them.
