Inclusion North, an organisation which exists to make inclusion a reality for all people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families, is looking for new volunteer members on its board of directors.
The organisation, based in Leeds but also covering Sheffield, is hoping to find two people
- who are are passionate about human rights.
- who know what it is like to not be included and to be treated badly because of who they are.
- who are good at listening and can speak up in meetings.
- with good ideas about how to make life better for people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families
- with enough time to come to six meetings a year – usually held in York but you can also join in online – and to read the reports.
Being on the Board of Directors is voluntary and there is no payment, although you can claim expenses. This means if anything to do with being a director costs money you get paid back for that.
You can find out more information including how to apply here or you can ring Inclusion North on 0113 2444792.
The closing date for applications is Friday September 8th
