Inclusion North Looking For Directors

Inclusion North Looking For Directors

Inclusion North, an organisation which exists to make inclusion a reality for all people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families, is looking for new volunteer members on its board of directors.

The organisation, based in Leeds but also covering Sheffield, is hoping to find two people

  • who are are passionate about human rights.
  • who know what it is like to not be included and to be treated badly because of who they are.
  • who are good at listening and can speak up in meetings.
  • with good ideas about how to make life better for people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families
  • with enough time to come to six meetings a year – usually held in York but you can also join in online – and to read the reports.

Being on the Board of Directors is voluntary and there is no payment, although you can claim expenses. This means if anything to do with being a director costs money you get paid back for that.

You can find out more information including how to apply here or you can ring Inclusion North on 0113 2444792.

The closing date for applications is Friday September 8th

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
