  • BSL Service for NHS 111 Calls

    British Sign Language users now have their own way of making urgent medical calls to the NHS 111 service. Using the webcam on a computer or the InterpreterNow app on a tablet or smartphone you can now make a video call to a BSL interpreter. The interpreter telephones an NHS 111 adviser and relays your conversation with them.

The results of this review have now been published and hospitals in our area will be encouraged to provide “networks of care,” with each focusing on a specific area of care, rather than all hospitals providing all services as they currently do.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
