NHS Easy Read Newsletter

The NHS England Easy Read Newsletter, designed for people with autism or learning disabilities and focusing on serious health issues, has produced its Winter edition.

Articles include how to protect yourself from flu and getting your flu jab in the form of a photo story and a poster you can print.

There are also features on learning from the early deaths of people with learning disabilities, how to spot and stop the blood disease sepsis and getting ready to leave secure hospitals.

The NHS England Learning Disability and Autism Engagement Team is also looking for people to get involved in the newsletter and their work. You can email them at engage@nhs.net or telephone 0113 824 9686. They’re also on Facebook and Twitter sites

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
