Age UK Sheffield is collaborating with Sheffield United Community Foundation, Sheffield Wednesday Community Foundation, Yorkshire Sport Foundation, Community Wellness Service and Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA to encourage people to get involved in physical activity and enhance mental and physical wellbeing.The first meeting of the forum will be held on Monday 29th November from 1pm–2pm .

The government has updated its guidance on how to get an NHS COVID Pass and demonstrate your coronavirus (COVID-19) status when travelling abroad and at events and venues in England.You can apply for a medical exemption if you cannot get vaccinated or tested for medical reasons. You’ll then be able to get an NHS COVID Pass for domestic events and venues when your medical exemption is confirmed.

The Sheffield Race Equality Commission was established in Summer 2020 by Sheffield City Council to assess the nature, extent, causes and impact of racism and race inequality in Sheffield and to make recommendations for tackling them. Its interim report concludes that the state of racial equality in the city remains a significant problem for Sheffield.

If you are an unpaid carer over the age of 16 you are now eligible for a Covid-19 booster vaccine. The jabs, which help improve the protection given by your first two vaccinations, are being offered on the NHS for people most at risk from COVID-19, who have had a 2nd dose of a vaccine at least 6 months ago. 16-17 year olds (who are caring) should get 2 vaccinations, this is different guidance to their peer group (1 vaccination).

The COVID-19 vaccination national booking service is now open for all frontline health and social care staff to book a booster vaccine appointment through self-referral. This includes Personal Care Assistants ( PAs ) employed by Individual Employers. Please note that you can only book an appointment for a booster dose if it’s been at least 6 months (180 days) since your 2nd dose of the vaccine.
