Do you find it hard to get an appointment? Does the doctor show understanding of your caring role and how it impacts on you? Do they link you to the right services to help you? Flu is an unpredictable virus that can cause mild illness in most people. As we approach Winter, the NHS have published guidelines on who should have a flu vaccine – people who are more likely to develop potentially serious complications of flu, such as bronchitis and pneumonia, their carers and frontline health and social care workers.

With effect from Monday 2nd December, personal wheelchair budgets are being introduced as part of a range of measures to improve current wheelchair service provision, to ensure people have better experiences of care and to give people greater choice over the wheelchair provided. People who need Section 117 after care support now have the right to a personal health budget, providing them with greater choice and control when managing their own health and care.

On Monday 2 December Social Work England will take over from the Health and Care Professions Council as the new specialist regulator for the profession.The purpose of Social Work England is to regulate the social worker profession so that people receive the best possible support whenever they might need it in life. They are committed to raising standards through collaboration with everyone who has an interest in social work, and they will also seek to promote confidence in the sector.
