Managing Your Finances During The Pandemic

Managing Your Finances During The Pandemic

Consumer advice website MoneySavingExpert has issued a comprehensive – and regularly updated – page of financial advice for people who may have money problems due to the coronovirus lockdown.

MSE founder and television regular Martin Lewis said: “The UK sadly, rightly, importantly is shutting down. Apart from for necessary work, groceries, medical appointments, caring and once-daily exercise, we should all stay home. This has a mountainous and potentially catastrophic impact on people’s livelihoods, income and finances.

Understandably, we’re swamped with concerned questions. The brilliant MSE team and I are flat out (in our homes) constantly updating our help guides. Things are changing constantly. We’ve seen a staggering number of announcements in the last week alone, each of which in normal times would be blockbuster news. So please keep checking the site for any changes.

The Coronavirus Financial Help And Advice page contains advice on a myriad of subjects including:

Supermarket opening times, deliveries and concessions for disabled people.
Financial product help, such as mortgages, savings, credit cards and rent.
Energy bill aid.
Your rights on cancellations, subscriptions etc,
Life & income protection insurance – which should cover coronavirus.
Return rights policies in shops.

It will be updated as details change.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
