With local election imminent and a general election sometime this year we want to remind people there are more accessibility aids available and you can request other adjustments. You also need to know about a rule change for submitting postal votes at polling stations and council buildings.

Meet Our Community Engagement Co-ordinator

Hello. My name is Paul Ntulila, and I’m thrilled to be the Community Engagement Coordinator at Disability Sheffield. My goal is to create a strong, thriving community of disabled people in Sheffield who can work with us to influence policies and decisions or even just meet up for a coffee and a chat. I recently travelled to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland to advocate for disabled people’s rights.

Sheffield Travel Support Joins Disability Sheffield

Sheffield Travel Support (STS) has joined Disability Sheffield! STS is a paid for service that provides travel support to hundreds of people with learning disabilities each week. Regular customers have the same regular Travel Support Workers, helping them to build trusted relationships and to understand your needs and preferences better.

Temporary loss of step free access to Dore Railway Station

Rail passengers who need step free access at Dore and Totley Railway station are urged to book passenger assistance if travelling to or from the station during the period from the 25th March to 4th April 2024. This is because the new lifts will not be fully working for some, or all of this period.

Disability Sheffield Volunteer John Playing Away

Disability Sheffield volunteer John Quinn ( pictured right ) has started to stage new moves in his writing career – with two of his plays being performed in the city soon. A short piece of his has been chosen for a night of new work to be held at Theatre Deli in Sheffield on Tuesday April 9th and a full-length work will be seen at Sheffield Theatres in the summer.
