People with personal health budgets and integrated personal budgets(including personal wheelchair budgets)are being asked again this year to complete a survey designed to help improve the support for budget holders and applicants in England. The NHS has commissioned Quality Health to run the survey until 14th May 2019 to gather feedback about people’s experiences of the budgets.

Having a poor body image is a problem for many disabled people – but a new campaign aims to help us accentuate the positive. Trailblazers has been launched following the Government’s body confidence report, which said: “Poor body image is not just a problem for individuals. It is an equalities issue, limiting the opportunities and rewards on offer to some sections of society.”

A disability rights campaigner has launched a petition in a bid to stop the Government merging assessments for Personal Independence Payments and Employment And Support Allowance.
The planned changes – due to start in 2021 – were announced recently in a speech by Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd, but London-based activist and blogger Lisa Egan is urging people to fight this. The petition closes on Sept 19

Poll cards for the local elections on the 2nd May have now been posted out to everyone who is registered to vote. If you haven’t received your poll card, this could mean that you haven’t registered to vote and won’t be able to have your say. You will need to register by 12th April to be able to vote.

Brothers who set up a community organisation in honour of their mum who died from dementia and a support group for children and young people with autism are in the running for a major award.Both Sheffield projects are in the finals for the People’s Projects ( National Lottery ) and you can vote until Monday April 15th.
