You’ve probably heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but have you heard of #GivingTuesday? It’s one of the biggest days in the global charity calendar, and it’s even broken Guinness World Records for online giving!
The story
Giving Tuesday first started in America and was introduced to the UK by The Charities Aid Foundation in 2014 as “an antidote to the mass consumerism of Black Friday”. Powered by social media, the event was the top Twitter trend on November 29th last year, and it now takes place in more than 70 countries around the world. It’s an incredible way to kick-start the charitable season!
How can you help Disability Shefield on Giving Tuesday?
This year we’re joining the movement as a charity and we need our supporters, old and new, to get involved!
As a local charity, donations help us to continue providing our service at little or no charge to disabled people, their families and friends. They also help us to support our team of staff and volunteers, provide vital advocacy services, distribute our popular Autism and PA training, and make our website and information services even better.
A Giving Tuesday donation doesn’t have to be big, but whether it’s £5, £10 or more, you’ll be helping us to fund everything that keeps Disability Sheffield and disabled people’s rights growing!
I’d like to make a donation to Disability Sheffield.
What can I do instead?
If you don’t want to donate, you can help us raise money as you shop on your favourite websites via Easy Fundraising.
Thank you!
