Are you a person with a learning disability, who mostly relies on support from family and friends? Are you a person caring (unpaid) for a person with learning disabilities who does not get social care which is paid for?
We are working in partnership with Sunderland People First and the University of Sheffield to carry out research to find out what it is like for people with a learning disability ( mild, moderate or severe ) in England when they don’t get funded support beyond help from family, friends or volunteer carers. We also want to know what it is like for the people who care for people with learning disabilities when they do not get paid for that role.
The project is called: ‘What About Me? ‘People with learning disabilities living on the edges of support: what is it like, and what needs to change?’
We are trying to find people with a learning disability and carers who look after people with a learning disability to be interviewed about what your lives look like without a social care budget and with no formal support. We can give you vouchers worth £45, to interview you online.
