Walking for Purpose - Take the Next Step to Employment

The employability project, Walking for Purpose= , has announced its Autumn/Winter walks programme .

From October to December, walks are taking place on the following days:

• every Tuesday at 82nd Chapeltown Scout Hall, Burncross Road, Sheffield, S35 1RX, 10.30am to 12.30pm
• every Wednesday at Firvale Community Hub, 127 Page Hall Road, Sheffield, S4 8GU, 10.30am to 12.30pm
• every Thursday at St Mary’s Church, Bramall Lane, Sheffield, S2 4QZ, 11am to 1pm

Walking for Purpose offers jobseekers the opportunity to gain valuable skills and training that employers want, whilst being active with a gentle walk.

Participants meet at a local venue where the Walking for Purpose friendly, approachable staff will walk with you to different training providers or workplaces where you will be able to:

•Get tips from local employers/training providers to make you more employable
•Develop and enhance your skills and experiences – great for your CV
•Receive a free one day travel pass for buses, trams and trains to help you attend
•Get access to free training courses
•Attend a celebration event at the end of your journey to celebrate your achievements

Booking is essential, please Tel: 0114 273 4266 to check dates and times ans book a place. Please inform the organisers of any disability or impairment you have so that reasonable adjustments are in place if needed. Free travel passes are available to support people to attend.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
