Members of performing arts organisation Under The Stars will be acting up at the end of this month and the start of next – with two separate shows at the Crucible Theatre.
Freedonia takes place on Tuesday May 31 and The Many Journeys of Maria Rossini the following evening, both in the Studio Theatre starting at 7pm.
Freedonia is set in a dystopian world where your every move and thought is monitored at all times by The Patient Ones. If have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear. You may only read news sources sanctioned by The Patient Ones. Do not dream. Dreaming is forbidden. But In the shadows, someone is planting seeds of hope and passing secret messages.
There will be a short post-show discussion after that performance for the audience to find out more about Under the Stars.
The Many Journeys of Maria Rossini is set in sixteenth-century Sicily, where the population encounters erupting volcanoes, plagues and an overbearing and unsympathetic Baronessa, who rules with an iron fist. However the peasants may have a saviour in Maria Rossini,
Both shows last an hour and thirty minutes with no interval. To find out more and to buy tickets see here.
