Mencap has launched a national campaign to transform how the NHS treats people with learning disabilities in hospital and is looking for local people to tell of their experiences.
Healthwatch Sheffield currently helping to promote Sheffield Mencap and Gateway’s ‘Sheffield Treat Me Well’ hospital survey for people with a learning disability . The survey was written by people with learning disabilities (members of Sheffield Mencap and Gateway’s Hospital Campaign Group) for people with learning disabilities . It asks questions about how you’ve been treated by hospital staff and for any improvements or suggestions you can make. Further information on the national Treat Me Well campaign can be found here.
The information collected will be used for the Sheffield Treat Me Well Campaign Group to identify what local hospital care in Sheffield is like for people with a learning disability and will formulate a report to help services to improve their approach.
