The Unhealthy State of Homelessness 2022 report presents findings from 31 Homeless Health Needs Audits, representing 2,776 individuals. The report shares up to date information on the health of people experiencing homelessness and explores whether the right services are available to adequately meet people’s needs.
The data presented in the report demonstrates that people experiencing homelessness face significant health inequalities. They are almost three times more likely to report having a longstanding illness, disability or infirmity than the general population and most of those with a diagnosed physical health condition are living with more than one disease/condition. Together with the challenges brought by homelessness, recovery is very difficult without adequate support.
