The Stage Is Set For You To Perform In Edinburgh

Ever fancied getting up on stage and talking about your life? Well the BBC’s disability site Ouch! is offering potential performers the chance to do just that.

They are asking disabled people to send them their stories on the theme of ‘Going Out’ and those voted the best will be given the chance to work with a top comedy script producer and perform it in front of an audience at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. It will also be filmed by the BBC.

This is the third time Ouch! has hosted a similar event and many of those taking part had never appeared on stage before. They are also offering help with access, travel funding and accommodation.

Applications must be in by June 18. Interested? Find out more here.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
