That Works for Me

That Works for Me

Zest has a new project called ‘Works for Me’ to support parents and carers living in Sheffield, who want to access training, think about looking for work or become their own boss.

The project – part of the wider Ambition project, part-funded by Sheffield City Council and the European Social Fund – is geared at supporting people who have been out of the labour market for an extended period of time due to caring responsibilities.

Advisors support individuals on a one-to-one basis using motivational techniques and coaching, offering tailored support and interventions. They offer advice and guidance to enable you to make well informed and realistic decisions ahout your future and help to find flexible jobs, supportive employers and courses to empower you.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
