Thank You - Our Gig Raised over £1000

Thank you to everyone who took time to come to our Pick ‘N’ Mix charity fundraiser on Saturday night at Crookes Social Club. It was an awesome evening that someone has described as ‘only in Sheffield could that have happened’ night. Thanks to The marvellous MeerCats who came and played jazz for us all, thanks to Mill Stone Grit who smashed it with their amazing rock anthem covers and thanks to drag artiste Dan Khan AKA Tia Anna for his memorable performance.

We would also like to thank Maurice and his staff at Crookes Social Club for kindly giving us the venue for free and being so kind and supportive of us all. Thank you to all the businesses who donated raffle prizes. A special thank you to Chris for his amazing painting of the Tinsley Towers which was auctioned on the night.

We raised over £1000 which will go to support the amazing work our charity does supporting disabled people across Sheffield to live as independently as possible and to have the same rights and choices as non disabled people so on behalf of all of us at Disability Sheffield, THANK YOU!

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
