Test Bed Programme Announces New App

The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Test Bed Programme is working with a company who have launched an app which will alert others to a person’s medical needs in an emergency.

SOS UK is being offered as a free download to the public and will contain details of medications, allergies and other information which will be useful and also ensures that nominated people will be contacted in an emergency.

The app is being assessed by Sheffield University and is thought it will be particularly useful for carers and those who do not speak English but have someone who can enter the details for them.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
