Support Dogs Information Day

Do you live with a physical disability and have a pet dog that has the potential to be your canine carer? If so, Sheffield-based national charity Support Dogs would like to hear from you.

Support Dogs’ aim is to improve the quality of life and independence of people with a wide range of physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, MS, fibromyalgia or spinal cord paralysis, by training their own pet dog as a disability assistance dog.

On the week commencing March 12 the charity is holding an initial information day for people who might be interested in applying for an assistance dog to come along and find out more about what it entails, and information about eligibility. View Press Release .

To attend the information day you must book in advance. Please call Support Dogs on 0114 261 7800 or email info@supportdogs.org.uk .

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
