Showroom Cinema are looking for enthusiastic film fans aged 16-19 for their British Film Institute ( BFI ) Film Academy Summer Residential! By taking part in this residential training scheme, you’ll gain experience and insight into indie cinema through workshops delivered by industry professionals. Masterclasses will cover cinema programming, the role of the film critic, film distribution, marketing for indie cinemas, finding your audience and loads more! Plus, you’ll even get to put on your own film festival at Showroom Cinema!
The programme takes place for one week in person from 29 July – 2 August and on three Saturdays online this summer. The closing date for applications is 1st July.
So, whether you’re a filmmaker, blogger, regular cinema goer, or someone who simply enjoys watching and talking about films, this exciting and intensive residential programme will give you a real insight into the world of cinema. Previous alumni have gone on to work at Warner Brothers, Sheffield DocFest and much more.
