Staying Inn at Christmas

Staying Inn at Christmas

You don’t need to be lonely this Christmas, even if you happen to be spending it alone. Instead why not have some fun in a virtual pub which aims to be accessible to everyone?

The Staying Inn was set up to keep people in self-isolation connected during Covid-19. It also has its own Twitter site.

It will be holding several events over the festive season. These include:

A Movie Night on Sat 19 Dec, Christmas Eve Games at 3pm on that day, a Christmas Day Pub Visit also starting at 3pm, Betwixmas Bingo at 7pm on Sunday December 27, and a New Year’s Eve Party, starting at 8pm on Thursday 31st. All of these take place on video conferencing site Zoom.

The Inn has been hosting a variety of events for most of the year and has its own Catch-Up facility at which you can see what has been happening. The sessions use BSL and captions to be as inclusive as possible.

You can become a member here. They have no fees but do appreciate if members can afford to donate the price of a pint for each visit to help keep the Inn as accessible as possible. Cheers!.There is also a fundraising page.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
