South Yorkshire Autism Fayre

South Yorkshire Autism Fayre

The line-up for this year’s South Yorkshire Autism Fayre has been announced. This year, like last year, it will be taking place virtually due to the recent pandemic and circumstances of health and safety. It will take place between 12th-14th September 2021.

The Fayre was started in 2015 by Sparkle Sheffield, a charity set up to help families with autistic children. The event was held at Norfolk Park Centre in the Park and had 2 speakers and 4 information stalls but by 2019 there were over 20 speakers and 40 stands that brought in over 500 members of the public and professionals. The event shared knowledge and information; and provided services and products to delegates from South Yorkshire and wider afield.

Among those taking part will be medical and legal experts and organisations standing up for autistic people. This is the schedule and there will also be kid speakers, talking of their personal experience of either having autism themselves or having autistic siblings. If any youngsters – no diagnosis is needed – wish to take part and have fun with a little bit of learning they just have to click this free link.

You can buy tickets for the full event here.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
