St Mary’s Social Supermarket is a place where people who are struggling to afford to feed themselves and their family can shop weekly for food. Members can also access activities, help and support to make positive life changes for an initial period of 12 weeks.
Members can choose their own food from each section of available items at a cost of only £3 each time you shop and you can also purchase vouchers for future use. There is a café for members with reduced price lunches ( and cakes ! ) when the supermarket is open. Members can join a breakfast club, have a community meal, and take part in other activities like gardening and keep fit.
Debt advisors are on site with the option to take part in one to one coaching, money or stress management and confidence building workshops. Members can also get involved with volunteering or helping to organise an event or project.
If you think St Mary’s Social Supermarket can help you, you can ask your support worker or other organisation to refer you, or you can refer yourself. View Poster and Website for more information.
Once you get to the top of the waiting list (usually no longer than a few weeks), someone from St Mary’s will call and if they think you are eligible to join you will be invited for a sign-up meeting and assessment.
