'Snow' Your Neighbour You Care this Winter

Ever wanted to offer help to a neighbour like clearing snow or shopping but not sure the best way to go about it?. Sheffield City Council has produced a new Snow your neighbour you care card to help you to offer help to older people this winter. Designed to act as an ice-breaker and a way for people to introduce themselves, the card is for people to put their details on and post through an older person’s door, or use to start off a chat. It includes the words: ‘hello my name is’, ‘I live at’, ‘you can contact me by’ and ‘I am happy to help with things like clearing snow, shopping or just having a chat.’ Cards can be picked up from libraries, doctors’ surgeries, council buildings and other public buildings. It is also available to download online. For more information View Website.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
