Sheffield Smart Lab invites Entrepreneurs to Support Independent Living

Sheffield has just launched the Smart Lab programme to help entrepreneurs test their ideas, products and services in a real-time city. As part of the Smart Lab, they are looking to select and support solutions that can help housebound adults maintain their independence. The short listed projects will receive mentoring by Creative Sheffield’s business adviser team and a series of workshops and training delivered by the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. The aim of the programme is to support the teams in developing a robust and context-specific business case. The best teams will then be offered a chance to pilot their projects with full support from Sheffield City Council. The deadline for applications is September 30th, and the programme starts in January 2016. Any questions? Have a look at the Sheffield Smart Lab Website and the selection process and key dates or get in touch by e mail .

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
