The Department of Works and Pensions ( DWP ) have been made aware of text messages issued to DWP customers.
The text messages relate to claiming either Cost of Living payments or Winter Fuel and invites the text recipients to claim via clicking a link.
These messages have been reported to DWP Security for awareness. The DWP is reminding customers to remain vigilant . The DWP will only send links which point to the GOV.UK website.
If you receive a call please take the following steps:
- Do not not to click the links within these messages.
- Block the number from your mobile phone
- Refer text messages to: Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud reporting centre
