SACMHA News

SACMHA, an organisation set up 30 years ago to meet the needs of members of Sheffield’s African Caribbean Community experiencing mental ill health, has released its latest newsletter.

It brings into focus some key activities that took place during Summer 2022 with a reflection on their Conference addressing black male suicide.Items featured included their ‘Man Talk’ meetings which take place every last Friday of the month from 6-8 pm at SADACCA on The Wicker near Sheffield city centre. This is a call for African and Caribbean men to talk more openly about their feelings. For further details you can email e.creary@sacmha.org.uk or telephone 0114 272 6393.

Also included are details of SACMHA’s new Digital Inclusion Project, an update on Community Outreach and Development and an article on prostate cancer awareness.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
