Rediscover Sheffield and Beat the Street

Rediscover Sheffield and Beat the Street

Now that we’re officially easing out of lockdown, Sheffield’s ‘Make Yourself at Home’ initiative is back to help give you ideas and inspiration for ‘re-discovering’ the city again.

So if you’re ready to start venturing out more, you’ll find some handy guides and stories on the Make Yourself at Home webpage.

The page is a collection of stories and updates showcasing what Sheffield has to offer over Spring, including events, making the most of our outdoor city, drinks and dining places and local delivery providers.

Beat the Street is coming soon to transform Sheffield into a giant gamewhich you can play from 16 June – 28 July and earn points as you , run, cycle, scoot or roll around the city. Beat the Street is a free, FUN, interactive challenge that encourages people to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives by turning the city into a six-week game.

The game is completely contactless and players take part in their family groups or support bubbles and are encouraged to walk, cycle, run, wheel or scoot as far as possible within the local area, with prizes for the teams that clock up the highest number of miles.

More information will shortly be available at Beat the Street Sheffield

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
