Disability Rights UK ( DRUK )have issued a response to the Government’s decision to halve the points awarded for using aids and adaptations for Activity 5 and Activity 6 in applications for Personal Independence Payments (PIP)from 1 January 2017 . In their response Disability Rights UK (DRUK) state that halving the point value of ‘aids and appliances’ descriptors will make it harder for many disabled people and people with long-term conditions to qualify for PIP in future . DRUK would like to see an assessment which accurately reflects additional costs faced by disabled people. View Statement.
