'Not Equal' Deaf Access Workshop

Healthwatch Sheffield is hosting a workshop with Citizen’s Advice Deaf Advice Team and Disability Sheffield, where commissioners and providers of Health and Social Care can share their responses to the recommendations of our ‘Not Equal’ Report. Deaf people’s needs are often disregarded , the report revealed, following an investigation into the experiences of Deaf people accessing health and social care services in the city.

The workshop will take place on Friday 23 March from 10am to 12noon at The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane Sheffield S1 4FW. BSL interpreters have been booked for this event.

This event is open to all – please get in touch with Healthwatch Sheffield to book your place or to arrange to include your experience as a case study in the workshops. Call Healthwatch Sheffield on 0114 253 6688, text 0741 524 9657 or email info@healthwatchsheffield.co.uk

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
