NHS Volunteering 'Army' Up and Running

NHS Volunteering 'Army' Up and Running

Are you self-isolating and in need of support? If so more help is now at hand thanks to the fantastic nationwide response to calls for volunteers at the start of the Coronavirus outbreak.

If you are currently not supported and need some help with shopping, a prescription collection or a friendly chat then the NHS Volunteer Responders, who have teamed up with the Royal Voluntary Service should be able to help you.

Just call 0808 196 3646 (8am to 8pm) to arrange volunteer support.

Please note, you should only get in touch if you fall into one of the ‘categories’listed on the website.

If you have caring responsibilities, you can make a referral for someone that you care for if they meet the criteria. You can also make a referral for yourself, if this support helps you to continue in your caring role.

Meanwhile Sheffield City Council has sent all local residents a postcard containing details of their community helpline which offers help in a variety ways. You can call it on 0114 273 4567 between 8.45am-4.45pm.

Don’t forget to keep up to date during the Coronavirus outbreak with the Disability Sheffield Coronavirus Information and Support page.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
