New Social Wellbeing Cafe

New Social Wellbeing Cafe

A Social Wellbeing Cafe has opened in Sheffield, offering people the chance to meet up and also get the help they may need on health and other important matters.

It is based at ShipShape Community Hub, The Stables, Sharrow Lane, Sharrow. which already offers physical and mental health support and practical assistance with food and hardship problems.

The cafe – which also calls itself a one-stop shop – will be open every Thursday from 11am-1pm and can supply advocacy support on a variety of issues – ranging from housing to mental health – and can help people with an adult or child in the family with additional needs, with health checks on offer to everyone. There is also language support available for Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic or Hindi speakers.

Entry to the cafe is free and everyone is welcome. To find out more you can email info@shipshape.org.uk, telephone 0114 250 0222 or check their Facebook.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
