Need Support through Court?

Need Support through Court?

Support Through Court is a charity that provides practical and emotional support for anyone going through the civil or family court alone. The charity is now based at the University of Sheffield and has expanded its service.

Their volunteers offer practical, procedural and emotional support in many areas of civil and family court processes either face to face ( appointment only ), by video or on the phone.

They can:

  • Explain how the court works, help fill in forms, organise papers, and discuss settling issues without going to court
  • Help clients plan what they want to say in court, and if needed, go with them to court to provide support and help afterwards.
  • Provide details of other specialist advice agencies, where possible, and help clients find out whether they can get free legal advice.

Please note the charity does not provide legal advice or support with criminal cases.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
