National Survey For Individual Employers

Disabled people who employ personal assistants or support workers are being asked to take part in a survey by Being The Boss, a national network for individual employers which provides peer support and a coherent voice for them in the wider community.

The group says that since 2010, when the Coalition Government introduced austerity measures, there have been many changes in assessment procedures, funding regimes and criteria, the closure of the Independent Living Fund and an overall undermining of independent living, demonstrating that all forms of independent living are under threat.

The survey is an attempt to fully understand the national picture on the ground and to establish what the key issues are. Being the Boss has its own page on Facebook and is in the process of setting up a website. If you wish to take part their survey closes on June 29th.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
