One of Sheffield’s most popular museums has now become more accessible thanks to the installation of a Changing Places Toilet.
The new addition at Weston Park Museum is funded by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities with support from Sheffield City Council and in association with Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The facility is the first in the city to be installed as part of the Government’s Changing Places fund.
Changing Places toilets have more space than usual and equipment including a height adjustable changing bench, a peninsular toilet and a celling hoist, which can be used by people with a variety of disabilities. It is believed that over a quarter of a million people need to use them.
