The National Survivor User Network (NSUN), are releasing a series of video posts by their members called #NSUNcovidlife .
The network was set up in 2007 to build a more united and confident mental health service user movement. It recognises the isolation, discrimination and disadvantage experienced by mental health service users and their needs beyond clinical treatment. It influences policy, practice and perceptions by amplifying the experiences and aspirations of their mental health survivor members.
During the latest broadcast Clare Shaw, who is described as a ‘poet, performer and survivor’ reflects on lockdown.
You can view all the posts so far here .
The NSUN has also launched a Covid-19 Fund as part of the Coronavirus Mental Health Response Fund. NSUN’s fund is to to support user-led organisations (ULOs) and smaller, unconstituted community groups in England, who might not otherwise be eligible for a grant. Grants of up to £1000 will be available to support community action, peer support, mutual aid and other activities that will make a direct difference to the lives of people living with mental ill-health, trauma and distress during this Covid-19 period. If you are in such a group you can apply for it here.
