Many of you will know that as well as the seven individual hubs that advise the Council, the Equality Hub Network ( EHN ) also runs a number of intersectional/ cross-hub working groups, which aim to get to grips with issues of common concern in the city.
The Health Working Group is in need of some new members, particularly as this is a major priority for nearly all the hubs. Similarly, it is an extremely important area of work for the Council and city partners.
The group so far has discussed:
• The health and wellbeing strategy for the city
• Mental health provision and support for children and adults
• Sexual health
• Blood disorders
• Social care packages
• Hormone provision for trans people
• Crisis/urgent care
The Equality Hub Network is also planning on revitalising the EHN Board to have thematic meetings focusing on the big issues affecting Sheffielders. The Network will invite Councillors and Senior members of Council staff along to hear what the Hubs have to say, what their concerns are, as well to hear about what the council is doing on certain issues and get involved in designing projects.
The Health Working Group meets approximately four times a year and travel expenses are available. If you want to get involved with the Health Working Group or other cross Hub Working groups on Hate Crime and Employment and Benefits please email equalitiesandinvolvement@sheffield.gov.uk .
